FAQs

What is Tasmania Together?

Tasmania Together is a 20 year plan for Tasmania’s future. It is a community based vision of where the people want Tasmania to be in the year 2020. It came about through a period of extensive community consultation during 2000, and was reviewed after its first five years, in 2005.

Tasmania Together sets targets for us to achieve which are expressed as 12 broad goals and 151 benchmarks. In essence, Tasmania Together sets the future we are working towards – and gives us a way of measuring progress.

What is the Tasmania Together Vision?

The community’s vision for the future is:

“Tasmania is an island community, unique for its natural and cultural environment, where people enjoy a prosperous lifestyle, based on quality, creativity and opportunity.”

The Tasmania Together plan also has 12 goals and 151 benchmarks to measure our progress towards 2020.

The Youth Challenge aims to encourage an exploration of the Tasmania Together vision, goals and benchmarks in a variety of creative and artistic ways.

Can I submit work that has been previously entered in another competition?

No. Entries in the TT Youth Challenge cannot have been submitted to a previous competition. However, entries can be based on previous research or work, as long as it is presented in a new way and clearly links to Tasmania Together. (For example, a previous module of enquiry may be submitted as a mini-documentary video; or be used as the basis for a poem or artwork). All entries must be the original work of the author(s).
