Tasmania Together is a 20 year plan for Tasmania’s future. It is a community based vision of where the people want Tasmania to be in the year 2020. It came about through a period of extensive community consultation during 1999, and was extensively reviewed after its first five years, in 2005. Tasmania Together sets targets for us to achieve which are expressed as 12 broad goals and more than 140 measurable benchmarks. In essence, Tasmania Together sets the future we are working towards – and gives us a way of measuring progress.
A TT Teachers’ and Student’s Guide can be accessed at www.tasmaniatogether.tas.gov.au/schools and is designed to assist both teachers and students to learn about, and become involved in, Tasmania Together.
The 2008 TT Youth Challenge helped students connect with the community’s vision for Tasmania, and investigate, understand and acknowledge the goals that are important to Tasmanians. The Challenge was open to all primary, secondary and college-level students in Tasmania.
Every Tasmanian can play an important part of shaping, improving and making a difference to Tasmania’s future. We want to tap into young people’s connection with the future and reveal their visions for the future of Tasmania.
We encouraged students to think about how they can make a difference and then use their creative abilities to share their vision for the future. The TT Youth Challenge is about bringing these visions to life.”
The registered teachers of the winning and commended classes will each receive their choice of a book or massage voucher, in recognition of their efforts in organising and entering their class submission.
Through their class entry, teachers also have the opportunity to win sport and /or art equipment for their school up to the value of $700.

This is a great opportunity to gain publicity for both your School and the TT Youth Challenge.
We would also like to receive an email, letter or phone call if you see or hear a story in your local media about the Youth Challenge.
We would appreciate any feedback on improving the TT Youth Challenge for next year. Send us your suggestions on improving the competition and what else you would like to be able to do for the Tasmania Together Youth Challenge? Email us today.
