Information on how to enter forms part of these conditions.

Ownership of Entries: By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees that copyright of all components of the entry will become the property of Tasmania Together Progress Board (“the Board”).

Through submission of an entry, contestants and their guardians grant non-exclusive reproduction and publication rights of the works submitted.
All contestants acknowledge, as a condition of entry, that Tasmania Together has the right to publicise and/or broadcast his/her name and competition entry or all other incidental matters.

All competition entries once submitted, automatically become the property of the Tasmania Together Progress Board. Entries will not be returned, unless specifically requested at the time of entry. Winning entries in the competition will be considered for future promotion of the Tasmania Together Youth Challenge.

Statement of Originality: All entries must be the original work of the author(s), and have not been used as an entry in any previous competition or challenge. Your entry can be submitted to other subsequent challenges and competitions being run this year (eg the Tasmanian Youth Environment Conference).

Entry Requirements: The TT Youth Challenge opens on Thursday 24th April 2008, and closes on Friday 27th June. Postal entries will be accepted until first mail (or 10am) Monday 30th June (ie postmarked no later than Friday 27th June 2008). Electronic entries must be sent by 5pm on Friday 27th June.

Registration is compulsory prior to entering the TT Youth Challenge.
All entrants must be currently enrolled and attending as students at the school under which they enter.
Students can enter more than once, however, each entry requires a separately completed Entry Form and must include a statement of not more than 200 words, reflecting on the entry piece and its connection to Tasmania Together.

The entrant’s name, grade level and school must appear on the reverse of any entries supplied in hard copy or on the cover of a video or CD submitted to the Tasmania Together Youth Challenge office.

Rights of the Board and Exclusion of Liability
The Tasmania Together Progress Board will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Tasmania Together Youth Challenge.
Tasmania Together Progress Board’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Tasmania Together Youth Challenge is final and binding on each participant.
Tasmania Together reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions.
Tasmania Together reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time in its absolute discretion and without notice to participants.

Judging
Judging will take place by 25 July 2008. All entries received during the competition period will be entered into the judging. Winners will be notified in writing by 31 July 2008 and displayed in the public notices section of the Advocate, Examiner and Mercury on 2 August 2008.

The judging panel will include a representative of the Tasmania Together Progress Board; a representative from the Department of Education; and a representative of the Department of the Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts.

The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, corrupted, incorrectly formatted or misdirected entries. No updated or revised versions of entries will be considered after initial entry.

Prizes
In each class section (K-2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12) there will be a first prize awarded, as well as two prizes for commended entries. Full details of prizes and distribution of prizes can found on the prizes page here >

The Board reserves the right not to award all prizes if there are less than three entries in any class section.
